Graduation Project | 2022
This handcrafted Goodyear Welt Boot was conceptualized, designed, and manufactured as part of my graduation project in 2022. Drawing inspiration from the rugged resilience of the desert landscape and the enduring legacy of Western footwear, the boot is a fusion of heritage craftsmanship and functional design.
The silhouette features a mid-calf rise, offering optimal support and protection for rough terrains and long rides. The angular cowboy heel and pointed toe pay homage to classic Western aesthetics, while the pull straps enhance usability, allowing for easy wear and removal.
A standout feature of the design is its rich, dual-tone brown leather—selected for its high quality, durability, and capacity to develop a unique patina over time. The decorative flame-like pattern along the shaft and vamp evokes movement and grit, symbolizing freedom and the spirit of the untamed.
Every element—from the Goodyear welt construction ensuring longevity and repairability, to the meticulous pattern cutting and finishing—reflects an in-depth understanding of material behavior and boot-making techniques. This project not only challenged my technical abilities but also strengthened my vision of storytelling through functional design.
